New RSS Based Automation Trigger

We’re proud to announce our 20th automation trigger: the ability to trigger an automation based upon recent updates to your RSS feed.

This is a really fantastic new feature that couples Mautive’s most recent RSS update to create a myriad of highly pertinent, streamlined and personalized options for you to keep your contacts up-to-date and in-the-know.

Whether you’re a brick and mortar business owner vying to keep your customers interested in your products and services, or a company updating your clients on recent developments that will impact them, this trigger will help you push out important, time-sensitive updates with no trouble.

All of us know how valuable our blogs are. We invest a significant amount of resources into the content we post there, and we know it’s a perfect medium and channel for to-the-point messaging that requires a certain level of depth that your other platforms might not be the best for.

By getting your customers, users, readers, etc. on your blog, you can delve deep into your offerings and unique value add with ease. Not to mention, you’re able to more easily operate within your brand’s voice and utilize your website’s analytics and other apps set up to maximize your marketing initiatives’ impact upon your visitors.

However, easier said than done, right? How do you get people to your blog in the first place? Enter in our lovely new RSS bases automation trigger :).

How it works

To create a RSS based automation, select the “RSS based” trigger.

A modal window with configuration options will display.

Here is where the fun starts – let’s get building.

First up, you’ll set up the frequency at which this trigger checks for content in your RSS feed. You can set up a check for hour, daily, weekdays, and weekends at the time of your choosing in your timezone or that of your contacts.

Next, you’ll decide how many new items on your feed trigger this automation. This is a wonderful opportunity to create a more frequent distribution of your new content, or you can strategically package updates based upon your blog’s goals.

Finally, select who you’d like to gate from entering this automation. You can either select “all,” or target a segment of your choice. For example, you may want to target new blog subscribers only.

Once you’ve configured your RSS based trigger to function in line with your content production and distribution, it’s time to build out your automation! A great first step would be to then build an email campaign within the automation that includes your RSS feed to share your new posts. Then, the full capability of Mautive’s drag-and-drop automation builder is at your disposal.

Here’s a short gif on how to find this new trigger and get started!

If you have any questions or want to share how you’ve incorporated and explored this new feature, please be sure to share below in the comments, or tweet with us at @mautivemail.
